I’m really looking forward to using this space to highlight interesting aspects of research projects I’m working on for clients, things I’ve learned along the way, or awesome photos pertaining to people, places, or things I encounter during research work. If you’re looking for details on my personal genealogical research, please see this page.
Above is a photo of Loch Ness, Scotland, which I took in the spring of 2015. I’d embarked on a three-week personal research trip to Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, and Orkney, and on a stopover in Inverness from Orkney to Birmingham for a family wedding I decided on a whim to spend a few hours looking for Nessie. I’m so glad I took this detour! Not only did we have a lovely (although too brief) sail up the loch on a gorgeous day, but we got to explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle on the shores. They had a real trebuchet, which was awesome, plus I’ve always been a sucker for ruins and crypts.
